K-On

Some of you might already know that I have a taste for Japanese anime. Ironically, my dad finds it weird for me, a college student watching some cartoon, speaking foreign language whilst laughing out loud by myself. Well, I don't blame him. He doesn't know how different anime is from cartoon (although I tried explaining). Trust me, cartoons and anime are two very VERY different things. Somehow anime has better plots, emotions, character build ups as compare to the cartoons you can see on Cartoon Network and Disney Channel.

Surprisingly I still manage to find time to catch my favorite animes despite being in between exams, Chemistry is just 4 days away!! I've just finished with the 9th episode of K-On and just like the other 8 episode, it's "MAGNIFICO" (magnificient + fantastic)! It's so good I've just gotta share this with my fellow blog reader.

K-On has got to be the 2nd greatest anime released of the year so far (behind FMA: Brotherhood). The first episode was out on April 3rd but I only got to know bout it recently. The story starts with a girl, Yui Hirasawa who recently started high school and is eager to join a club.

naive, innocent Yui

At the same time, Ritsu Tainaka, a drummer, and her friend Mio Akiyama, a bass player, whose also a freshie, desperately trying to save the school's light music (K-On) club from being disbanded due to the lack of members.

energetic and mischievous Ritsu

mature yet shy Mio

They manage to recruit Tsumugi Kotobuki to play the keyboard and needed one more member. That's when Yui steps in but there's a problem. She doesn't play any instrument but the castanet!

soft spoken and positive Mugi

Although they manage to form a school band, there's much needed to be done and through all the obstacles thrown at them, we get to see how they overcome and ridiculously surpass them.

What makes this anime so lovable is that the characters are very lively and different among each other. Ridiculous random scenes and outrageous expressions never fails to tickle my funny bone. The story is also pacey, smooth and not draggy like how some anime would make you yawn throughout the show.

Kawaii girls, funny expressions, cool band, great music, high school life, what's not to like?

*Don't say I didn't warn you, they can be as addictive as hell!

Resistance is Futile

Call me cheap, call me savvy I just couldn't resist the temptation of free stuff. Most of the time we get the quote, "nothing comes free". True but in conditions where it's a win-win situation for both sides is fantastic! I get to watch the movie, they get to promote them. That's how it goes recently when I attend the premiere screening of Terminator: Salvation with my dad/papa/boss/king/father. (any title will do)

If you notice the ticket, there's a 8tv logo at the top signifying the ticket is sponsored by 8tv. How I ended up in a screening hall sponsored by 8tv instead of Nuffnang is a bummer. It was initially Nuffnang that promised 2 tickets RESERVED under my name. When I got there, the person @ the ticket collecting booth told me that they made a mistake and somehow my ticket was given away to someone else. Hmm.. I wonder what does reserve means. The last time I check it means secured without being in my possession so basically, I was robbed off my tix.

Frustrated, I demand compensation. We manage to come to a peace treaty but nevertheless, there's no way we're getting in. My dad was absolutely furious and just when we're about to head home empty handed, a man approach us and offered us tickets to Terminator! At 1st I thought it was for sale but just when I wanted to inquire he said the "F" word (no! did you kiss your mom with that mouth?) and that's how me and my dad ended watching the movie with tickets sponsored by 8tv.

camera shy dad

The movie revolves around John Connor of the future where there's so many types of Terminators. There's the flying type, the motorcycle type, the swimming type, the human type (T3) and many more lah! The main point is to kill them all, simplistic plot. There's not gonna be any spoiler here so you can go watch it yourself. The movie does not chain the previous Terminators together very well, it's as though it's another movie by itself which kinda contribute to the s-factor (s = suck) to most fans. I would rate this movie as average, nothing more, nothing less.

*I'm so excited for Transformers 2, the trailer is uber cool!

No Freedom

This blog is soooo dead.. Yeah I realized that, it just shows how boring my life is now. The only entertainment keeping me alive now is Facebook, can you imagine that? I only come home for dinner and to sleep, most of my time will be at the library. I procrastinate a lot in the library, I get easily distracted. Yes I do. Can't wait for 11th June.

Thanks to this examination period coincidentally clashing with Freedom I don't think I'll be able to catch Ferry Corsten working his turntable in front of thousands. FML! To top it off this year the 2-day Freedom music fest will be held at A'Famosa Resort instead of the disgusting PWTC. Argh! I refuse to believe this is all happening this coming weekend when I'll be in the library. I would be one of the gayest (happiest) man on this planet if I don't have all this exams going on.

Alrite! Enough ranting. I just wanna get it out of my system. Btw, to all my fellow HELPians, Godspeed!

Idolistic

I SURVIVE Physic!!

To my surprise I don't need to swallow a pill of potassium cyanide (a.k.a. suicide pills) to stop the torture! Frankly, Unit 1 was easier than my 1st time encounter. As for Unit 2 well.. It's a whole different story, manageable though.

While I was attending my Unit 1 crash course before the exam this came in..

KRIS ALLEN! New American Idol!! =.="

ADAM LAMBERT! New American Idol Runner Up!

I know most preferred Adam over Kris but one must bear this in mind, Americans hate gays choose not us.. So to all Adam fans here, don't fret you don't have to be the idol to ROCK!

We Are The Champions

Another Premiere League title in the bag. All that's left now is the UEFA Champions League which should be the icing on the cake for Manchester United's dominating season come next Thursday morning. United sealed another trophy last Saturday with a goalless draw at the "Theater of Dreams".

"We Are The Champions!!"

As a proud Man Utd fan, I couldn't pass the chance to watch such historical moment at Asia Cafe along with hundreds of fans. Unfortunately, it wasn't a sweet sight for everyone. Not for Jon and Aaron who had to watch their favorite team, Arsenal held to a goalless draw as Man Utd celebrate wildly on the pitch with popping champagne and bursting balloons.

This Thursday is going to be a power packed day! It's the American Idol season finale result (although I'm not really a fan of AI) and my Physic test Unit 1 and 2! OMFG!!

Honestly, I can't imagine.

edit: made a mess out of the Champions League final date.. sheesh! pai seh pai seh~

I'm In

I officially have my own Ruumz. It's no typo, I'm not talking about the 4 wall space people use to make out or the place people use to snooze half of their total lifetime, I'm talking about the latest social website for horny people. Ruumz is just like your usual social webbie, where you can share pics, vids, blogs, get connected with friends or for some, get some intimacy or Into-Me-I-See. ^^

What seperates Ruumz from other social webbie is that they have Blings! Which is the currency in Ruumz for you to order Photo Prints and Photobooks direct from your online album, download music, download cool ringtones, mobile games and many more!

Did I tell you about ruumz.fm? You can access ruumz.fm from your profile and listen to the Bling Brothers (Fly Guy and Ross) wherever, whenever!

Facebook got poke, Ruumz got RUUMERANG!! Throw it at your friends or someone you (think) you know..

I'm in.. are you?

The Only One

Nothing is higher than your affection,
Nothing is wider than your vision,
Nothing is stronger than your protection,
Nothing is faster than your senses,
Nothing is heavier than your burden,
Nothing is longer than your prayers,
Nothing is sweeter than your blessings,
Nothing is more beautiful, nothing can replace you..

Happy Mama's Day

Love Story Meets Viva La Vida

Ok.. Mocks are over, make way for the REAL DEAL! In 3 weeks time or less, I'll be facing the actual exam papers, flew all the way from the UK.. Results of the mock done in the past week are coming in and most of my results are rather "unpleasant". It's so bad, I bailed out on Amin to watch 'Coming Soon' supposedly after class today. The mood for fun sucked right out of me like a vacuum cleaner when my eyes scan through my recently acquired C3 math result. Shocking but predictable seeing how chilled I've been throughout this sem.

Anyway, it's also the last week for the Jan (A52) and March (A53) intake fellas. I don't think I'll be seeing any of them after this unless.. I go for prom. Gonna miss most of the whacky fellas I know from LAN classes ;-)

I found this really cool video to listen to while I was grinding on books..

Do expect a lil less update from now and then till my actual exams are over.

Love, Sex and Magic

29 April 2009

There's a celebration in the house, it's Kim Minseo's birthday! It was a surprise for her but I think she kinda figured it out when we were holding her in class for so long due to some technical difficulties to look for a lighter (where's the smokers when you need em?). We got her a cake and it was Oreo Cheesecake from Secret Recipe!! Woo hoo!

Pikachu!

Got me all excited during the cake cutting ceremony but what's a birthday without a lil cream on the face right? So basically we ruined the topping of the cake and played with the cream before class but who cares right? I don't care! The cake still taste scrumptiously yummy especially with the thought that everyone's faced was touched by the plastic cake knife. Literally, a sweet cake indeed.

On the same day while I was waiting for my ride back, I thought tsunami crash into Damansara! There I was, sitting innocently waiting for the bus with my ear plugged into some loud thumping music and suddenly water came pouring from the back. I got shocked and didn't know what happened. All I know is, I should be moving far away from the bus stop. Later to find out, there's a crazy pipe just burst open and flushing gallons after gallons of water out in uber high pressure. Went back and laughed about it when I mentally rewind that moment.

30th April 2009

Movie with my 3 dudes after Chemistry extra class. Amin drove us (Me, Zamir and Sathish) to Mid Valley and we started Q-ing at the unusually short line at the ticketing counter.

Amin is definitely below 1.8

Zamir and Sathish monkey-ing @ carpark

Wolverine was off the hook! It's the slightly more mature/serious/don't play-play version of the Marvel X-Men trilogy. The movie obviously revolves around Mr. Logan famously known as Wolverine which I eventually found out where the name came from. My favorite part of the whole movie has to be the intro where they introduce Hugh Jackman and crew. Somehow, they made a very cool version in introducing the actors and actresses with special effects and pauses like a marvel comic strip, which got me all goosebumps at the start itself, very good appetizer indeed. So my advise, watch the movie and don't be late!

Morning at Mid Valley on a weekday sure looks different. It feels really weird to see the shops hustling to get ready for the inevitable crowd to come. Now, that's something me don't usually see! ;-)
